Virginia Aberle
Virginia A. Aberle, age 29, of Chicago, formerly of
Asheville, NC, died Saturday, August 20, 2016, as the result of an
accidental drowning on the Mississippi River on August 3, while swimming
with friends.
Virginia's family wishes to express their
great appreciation to all the volunteers who never gave up in their search
for her. Your love and support has meant so much during this difficult
time. We will be forever grateful for all your time, kindness, and
hard work.

Leo J. Abing
Leo J. Abing, age 74, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at his residence in Lancaster. He was born on February 19, 1935, in Potosi, the son of Charles and Martha (Schmitz) Abing. On September 11, 1956, he was united in marriage to Bernadette M. Loeffelholz at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville. Together they farmed in Grant County and in 1965, moved to their family farm in South Lancaster Township. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where he served as an usher. Leo was also a member of the Catholic Knights and served as vice president. He was also employed with American Breeder Service, and Murrays Dairy Farm and Refrigeration. Leo and Bernadette owned and operated the Maple Harris Guest House in Lancaster for fifteen years. Leo enjoyed scouting back roads and fence line shopping. He was always ready to lend his time to anyone in need.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 28, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp and Father John Norder officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Sunday, December 27, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at St. Clement and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday. Florentine Abing-Joyce
Florentine M. Abing-Joyce, age 76, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in rural Lancaster. She was born on December 19, 1933, in Dickeyville, the daughter of Adolph and Marie (Schollmeyer) Wallenhorst. On October 10, 1951, Florentine was united in marriage to Cyril Abing at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Tennyson. Together they farmed in Grant County. In 1965, they moved to the family farm south of Lancaster and they raised ten children. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, crocheting and vacationing with family and friends. On September 9, 1989, Florentine married her soul mate, Dan Joyce, at St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster. They continued to enjoy life to the fullest with fishing, card playing, playing Scrabble and many more vacations.

Helen R. Ackerman, age 79, of

Ila Dubel-Adams
Ila D. Adams, age 87, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on January 2, 1925, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Tom and Nellie (Cooley) Bass. Ila attended country school. In 1941, Ila was united in marriage to Walter Dubel in Cassville. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Mt. Hope and Lancaster. After their retirement, the couple moved to Lancaster, where Ila was employed with Finney Implement. The couple later moved to Bagley and Ila worked for Bass Newsstand. Walter preceded Ila in death in 1985. In 1987, Ila was united in marriage to Clarence Adams in Bagley. After their marriage, the couple moved to Lancaster. Clarence preceded Ila in death. Ila enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed going out to eat and going for drives. Ilas family and faith were very important to her.
Survivors include her son, Ron (Jules) Dubel, Lancaster; four grandchildren: Julianne, Justine, Tim and Dan Dubel; three great-grandchildren: Brittany, Donnie and Casie Dubel; one brother, Clinton (Norma) Bass, Beloit; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husbands, Ila was preceded in death by a son, Jim and her brothers and sister: Bob, Jim and Tom Bass and Betty Hardwood.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster.
Jean Adams
Jean Frances Adams, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 29,
2015, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. Jean was
born to Lillard Kieler and Hazel Lenstra Kieler. She married
Mark Adams at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque on May 30, 1950.
He preceded her in death on September 14, 2002.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a long time
member of St. Clement Church, a master gardener and member of the Lancaster
Garden Club.
Jean is survived by her children: James (Jane); Timothy
(Patricia); Daniel (Anne); Susan; Paul (Lorrie); Janet (Randall) Nodorft;
Patrick; Martin (Lori); Cynthia (Thomas) Simon; Douglas (Shelly Biggin); Gregory
(Amy); Gerald (Amy); Cheryl (Kevin) Kadera; Angela (Brian) Bird; and Steven
(Erika); 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Rea (Patrick);
brothers-in-law, Gene Sullivan and Richard (Janis) Adams; sisters-in-law,
Rosemary Schultz, Dolores Hosch and Cecelia (Charles) Breihan and many nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded
in death by her parents, her step-father, Lawrence Meyer, her sister, Marilyn
Sullivan, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Adams; several brothers and sisters-in-law,
and a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Adams.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday,
November 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with
Reverend John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St.
Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation was from 4:00
until 7:00 pm on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation
Services, 111 South Tyler Street in Lancaster, where a 3:45 p.m. scripture
service was held. Family and friends also called on
Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
In lieu of plants and flowers, a Jean F. Adams Memorial Fund has been
established to benefit Jean's favorite charities and organizations.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Jean's
neighbors and caregivers who provided much appreciated kindness, friendship,
transportation and household services for many years, to the caretakers at
Orchard Manor and to Bill Manthe.
Jean will be very sadly missed by her family.

Nancy J. Adams
Nancy J. Adams, age 48, of Potosi, died on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster, following a courageous seven year battle with heart disease. She was born on January 22, 1963, the daughter of Richard and Marlene (Fritz) Keene. Nancy graduated from Potosi High School in 1981. On November 5, 1983, she was united in marriage to Patrick J. Adams at Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi. Nancy was employed at Federal Land Bank, Union Bank and Trust, Foremost Farms, and most recently, as a secretary in the Physical Therapy Department at Grant Regional Health Center. She was a member of Davies Memorial United Church of Christ. Nancy dearly loved her family and keeping up with their activities. She enjoyed being outdoors on the farm, and the company of her two cats, Chippy and Mason. Nancy will always be remembered for her infectious laughter and smile.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Adams, Potosi; children: Sarah Adams, Oregon; Bradley Adams, Potosi; her parents, Richard and Marlene Keene, Potosi; her sisters, Peggy (Bob) Miller, Lancaster; Carol (Jack) Hayes, Verona; Sheila (Rick Wedig) Keene, DeForest; brother, Richard Keene, Jr., Potosi; her mother-in-law, Jean Adams, Lancaster; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ramona Adams
Ramona Mary Adams, age 79, of Platteville,
WI was called home peacefully on Sunday,February 28, 2016, at Manor Care
surrounded by her loving family. Ramona was born onJune 22, 1936, in Grant
County Wisconsin, the daughter of Louis and Ruth (Ball) Adams.
Ramona was passionate about family history and documented 8
generations of the Adams and Ball families tracing back to Germany and England.
She also enjoyed antiques and the history of farming and Grant County.
Ramona worked for many years on the family farm and was the caretaker for her
parents.
Ramona enjoyed making puzzles and playing cards with family
and friends. She also volunteered for many years at the Rollo Jamison
Museum. Ramona was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville,
WI where she devoted many hours to making quilts.
Those left to cherish Ramona's memory include sisters,
Lorraine Knapp of Hillpoint, WI, Carolee (Don) Birschbach of Janesville, WI,
Linda (Dave) Bockhop of Belmont, WI; Brothers, Jerry (Ann) of Cuba City, Steve (Rossana)
of Arvada, CO, and Jeff (Deb) of Belmont; Sister-in-law Darlene Adams of
Stockton, IL; many nieces and nephews and close friend Barb Schuster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; oldest brother

Steven J. Adams
Steven J. Adams, age 51, of Cassville, passed away onTuesday, March 12, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 9, 1962, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Gary and Sandra (Brinkman) Adams. Steven graduated from Cassville High School in 1980. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Beetown area. On September 18, 1999, he was united in marriage to Arlene (Lange) Goke at Platteville. Steven was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Cassville School Board and was the FFA Alumni Treasurer for several years. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan and liked to watch Cassville high school sports. Steven enjoyed his life on the farm and was very proud of his Quality Milk Awards and accomplishments in dairy farming.

Thomas J. Adams
Thomas J. Adams, age 71, of Platteville, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at his residence in Platteville. He was born on November 9, 1939, in Lancaster, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Riniker) Adams. He attended school at St. Clement Catholic School in Lancaster . On June 2, 1959, Thomas was united in marriage to Ruth VanNatta at St. Marys Catholic Church in Platteville. Thomas was employed with John Deere for many years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Adams, Platteville; sons: Terry Adams, Adams Friendship, WI; Kevin Adams, Platteville; Rick (Teresa) Adams, Cuba City; Scott (Krista) Adams, Poynette; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother and sisters: Richard (Janis) Adams, Dickeyville; Delores (Leonard) Hosch, Monticello, IA; Rosemary Morris, Stockton, IL; and Cecelia (Charles) Breihan, Lancaster.

Mark
H. Addison
Mark H. Addison, age 55, of
Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014, as a result of an
ATV accident. He was born on November 7, 1958,
the son of James and Patricia (Breihan) Addison.
Mark graduated from Lancaster High School in 1976.
It was in that year that he enlisted in the United States
Army, serving in Germany until 1979. On February
21, 1981, Mark was united in marriage to Barbara Ihm.
Mark was employed as the North Lancaster Township Patrolman
for over thirteen years. In 1994, he started
Addison Bulldozing. Mark enjoyed fishing,
motorcycling and music. He dearly loved spending
time with his children and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children:
Cory (Amanda) Addison; Laura (fianc Lance Wamsley) Addison;
Michelle (fianc Julian Franco) Addison; four grandchildren: Leah,
Austin, Jace, and Evren; his siblings: Chuck

Annabelle Adrian
Annabelle M. (Adams) Adrian, age 87,
of Potosi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Orchard
Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on
September 28, 1929, in rural Potosi, the daughter of John and Esther (Pitzen)
Adams. On April 11, 1950, Annabelle married Donald Adrian.
She spent the majority of her life working on the farm with her
husband and raising her family. Annabelle was a loving
person who put others first before herself. She devoted
many years to taking care of her husband when he was ill.
Annabelle enjoyed taking a lot of pictures, collecting cookbooks and
reading. She loved her family dearly, especially her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annabelle liked
getting out, going for rides in the country and visiting her special
neighbors. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic
Church in Lancaster.
Survivors include her children:
Dennis Adrian, Potosi; Diane (Mark) Muldoon, Lancaster; Bruce (Carol)
Adrian, Potosi; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother,
Gary (Sandra) Adams, Cassville; other relatives and many friends.

death by her husband, Donald, her brothers: Donnie,
Johnny and nephews: Steve Adams and Steve Adrian and a niece, Joyce Adrian.
In keeping with Annabelle's wishes, a private family
funeral service will be held. Burial will be in St.
Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home

Brenda L. Adrian
Brenda L. Adrian, age 50, of Cassville, died on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born January 9, 1960, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Earl Buck and Neoma (Turner) Retallick. Brenda graduated from Cassville High School in 1978. On June 24, 1978, she was united in marriage to Mark Adrian, Sr., at Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. She drove bus for Warco and Stratton Busses for a total of thirteen years. Brenda was then employed at Swiss Colony from 1991 through the present. She coached cheerleading and enjoyed camping, photography and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and also loved NASCAR.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-two years, Mark Adrian, Sr., Cassville; her children: Matthew (Nicole) Adrian, Platteville; Mark Adrian, Jr., Cassville; Amanda (Danyl) Curtis, Platteville; five grandchildren: Hayden, Allison, Abigail, Timothy, Jr., and River; her siblings, Sherlyn (Bill) Kleinow, Cindy (Jeff) Hessling; Ben (special friend, Sue Granberg) Retallick; mother-in-law, Minnie Darlene (Ames) Adrian; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Duane Adrian and her siblings, Eugene Sonny Nickel and Brian Retallick.

Greg John Adrian
Greg John Adrian, age 24, of
Glen Haven died Sunday, November 22, 2009 as a result of injuries
sustained in a car accident. He was born October 8, 1985 in
Greg worked on the family farm with his dad and brother. Farming was his life, but he also enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, playing cards, and spending time with his beloved dog, Mojo.
He is
survived by his parents, Stephen and Lou Ann Adrian of Glen Haven;
brother, Adam (Angie) and niece, Erin Adrian of Glen Haven; sister
Emily (Daniel) Lilla of Trempealeau, Wisconsin; grandparents, Walter
and Dorothy Edge of Platteville, Dolores and Monroe Gardner of Glen

Joyce Adrian
Joyce Mary Adrian, age 61, of Madison,
formally of Cassville, died Monday, April 13, 2015. She was born March 13,
1954, at home in Cassville. She was the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Vogt)
Adrian. Joyce graduated from Cassville High School in the class of 1972. She
started her career taking care of people at Lake Shore Manor. Joyce enjoyed
change and had various positions caring for people. She
also drove truck. Joyce was a people person; she enjoyed card playing,
traveling, gambling, and most of all talking. Joyce has an amazing
resiliency, surviving two bouts of cancer.
Joyce is survived by her brother Jim Adrian and nephew
Keith Adrian of Waunakee.
She was preceded in death by her parents
and her brother, Steve Adrian.
A Scripture Service was held on Saturday, April 25,
2015, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father
John Meinholz officiating. Burial was at a later
date. Family and friends called on Saturday from 3:00
p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic School Gymnasium where a
memorial luncheon was also held during that time.

Marcella Adrian
Marcella M. Adrian, age 94, of Cassville, WI, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.
Marcella was born on October 12, 1917, in Cassville, a daughter of Oscar & Katherine (Schmeltz) Shaben.
She married Vincent Adrian on November 28, 1940, at St. Charles Church in Cassville.
Marcella enjoyed playing cards, reading, sewing, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her son, Mark (Ruth) Adrian; a daughter, Marcia Wiest; seven grandchildren, Gina (Andy) Kirschbaum, Melissa (Jeff) Allen, Chad Adrian, Amy (Tim) Adams, Stacy (Don) Packard, Todd (Nichole) Wiest, and Brent Wiest; twelve great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; her parents; and two brothers, Clifford and Durward Bud Shaben.
Special thanks to Marcellas granddaughter, Amy, who took exceptional care of her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 am on Monday, January 16, 2012, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Marcella Adrian
Marcella L. "Sally"
Adrian, age 97, of Cassville, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Orchard
Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on May 29,
1918, in Cassville, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Schauff) Fishnick.
On April 15, 1939, Sally was united in marriage to Carl Adrian.
After their marriage, the couple farmed together for 41 years.
Then after Carl's death, she moved to Cassville.
Sally lived a life of service, completely dedicated to her
family, St. Charles parish, and the Cassville community. She
spent her younger years working on the farm, especially in the garden and
kitchen with her canning, cooking and baking. After she moved
off the farm, Sally's service to others continued. She cared
for numerous elderly in the community, cooking and cleaning for them so they
could continue to stay in their own homes. She volunteered
her time at the Cassville meal site for more than 28 years.
Sally's door was always open, especially to her grandchildren, who spent time at
her home. We all remember many conversations around Sally's
table, complete with cookies and milk. Spending time with her
family was always a top priority. Even as her health was
failing, Sally's smile never faded. She loved and cared for
all deeply. Sally will be missed dearly, but her strong work
ethic, generosity, and love for others has been instilled in and inspires her
children, grandchildren, and all who knew her well.
Sally is survived by her children:
Bonnie (Bob) Chapman, Glen Haven; Marlene (Dick) Esser, Owen (Judy) Adrian, all
of Cassville; a daughter-in-law, Linda Adrian, Platteville; 15 grandchildren; 38
great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law:
Cory, Beverly and Dorothy Fishnick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a son,
Michael Adrian; her brothers: Vincent, Herb, Roland, and Paul
Fishnick; sisters: Agnes (Victor) Irish and Pauline (John) Tobin.

John Meinholz, Fr. William Seipp and Fr. Bart Timmerman officiating.
Burial was in St. Mary's Settlement Cemetery, Cassville.
Family and friends called on Friday, December 4, 2015, from 4:00 p.m.
until 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville where a 3:45 p.m.
parish scripture service was held. Friends also called
on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Survivors include his best friend and partner, Roberta Muntz, and her parents, Robert (Rose) Bohringer, all of Cassville; step-daughter, Chrissy Vogt, Fennimore; four sisters: JoAnn (Harold) Lenz, Cassville; Kay Johnstone, Platteville; Donna Theisen, Cassville; Shirley (David) Leamy, Bloomington; a brother: Ronald (Laurie) Adrian, Calvert City, KY; many nieces and nephews, dear friends, and his four legged friends, Dog and Molly.
In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Randy, two nephews, Joe and Ronnie Adrian, Jr., and a great-niece, Trista Mumm.

Thomas P. Adrian
Thomas P. Adrian, 78, of Cassville , WI , died on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque , IA. Tom was born on July 15, 1932, in Cassville, a son of Joseph & Clara (Brinkmann) Adrian. Tom graduated from Cassville High School in 1950. He married Florence Meyers on September 17, 1960, in Cassville. Tom worked for 39 years at Dairyland Power, until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, and once served as a volunteer firefighter for the Cassville Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening at the farm, fishing, hunting, deer rides, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his three children, Sue (Jed) Sperry of Chippewa Falls, WI, Greg (Sandy) of Blanchardville, WI, and Jill (Brad) Werlein of Middleton, WI; four grandchildren, Sam, Jake, Riley, and Reese; a brother, Richard of Monona, WI; a sister, Mary (Gene) Metcalfe of Cassville; and several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence in 1991; and his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Father John Meinholz celebrating the mass. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 am at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery . Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is serving his family.

Victor L. Adrian
Victor L. Adrian, age 70, of Cassville, died on Friday, March 19, 2010, at the Lancaster Care Center in Lancaster. He was born on April 24, 1939, in Lancaster, the son of Ed and Marie (Esser) Adrian. Victor graduated from Cassville High School in 1957. He then enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1959. On October 3, 1964, he was united in marriage to Nancy Kartman at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. Three children were born to this union. She preceded him in death in 1983. Victor was employed at John Deere and with Wisconsin Power and Light for over thirty years. He married Patsy Krohn, who preceded him in death. He later married Betty Nelson of Cassville. Victor enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time at his sons shop.
Survivors include his children: Brad (Kelly Zimmerman) Adrian, Mt. Vernon, SD; Jenni (Scott) Neuman, Windsor; Jon (Amy Okey) Adrian, Cassville; two grandchildren: Sam and Lilly Neuman; a sister, Donna (Russ) Metcalfe, Cassville; his wife, Betty Nelson, Cassville; Patsys children: Jeff (Amy) Krohn, Prairie du Chien; Tammy (Kyle) Hudson, Missy (John) Okey, and Candy (Matt Walker) Krohn, all of Cassville.
In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and wife, Patsy, and his twin sister, Vicky Adrian.
Family greeted friends on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville. Private family burial was on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at St. Mary Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Family suggests memorials may be offered to the Cassville Fire Department.
